Der Dokumentarfilm "Solving the Bonnet Problem" verfolgt die Arbeit von drei Mathematikern, die gemeinsam an der Lösung eines seit langem bestehenden geometrischen Problems arbeiten, das von Pierre Ossian-Bonnet vorgeschlagen wurde. Neben ihrer Arbeit beleuchtet der Film auch das Leben und die Beiträge von Bonnet und seinem Zeitgenossen Gaston Darboux sowie die Geschichte der französischen Mathematik im 19. Jahrhundert. Fesselnde Computergrafiken helfen dabei, komplizierte Konzepte zu entschlüsseln und sie für alle zugänglich zu machen.

The documentary "Solving the Bonnet Problem" follows the work of three mathematicians as they collaborate to solve a long-standing geometrical problem proposed by Pierre Ossian-Bonnet. Alongside their work, the film explores the lives and contributions of Bonnet and his contemporary Gaston Darboux, as well as the history of French mathematics in the 19th century. Captivating computer graphics help unravel intricate concepts and make them accessible to all.
